How to Show Battery Percentage on iPhone 13

The battery percentage on your iPhone 13 is a helpful indicator of how long it will last until you need to charge it again. You can also use the battery percentage to estimate how fast a particular app consumes your iPhone battery.
But like other iPhones with Face ID, the iPhone 13 is designed with a notch on the screen. For these models, Apple doesn’t show the battery percentage next to the battery icon anymore.
There are workarounds for this issue. So, let’s look at how to show the battery percentage on your iPhone 13.
1. View Battery Percentage in the Control Center
The quickest way to let your iPhone 13 display the battery percentage is to go to the Control Center. Swipe down from the top-right corner on your iPhone 13’s screen to do so.
You’ll see the battery percentage of your iPhone 13 right next to the battery icon in the status bar. Not too bad, isn’t it?
Another method to show the battery percentage on your iPhone 13 is to add the battery widget. You can set your iPhone 13 to show the battery percentage in Today View or on your Home Screen.
To add the battery widget to Today View, make sure your iPhone 13 is unlocked and go to Today View by swiping right on the first page of your Home Screen. Now, scroll to the bottom and tap on Edit. Next, tap on the plus (+) icon on the top left.
Find the Batteries widget using the search bar and select it. The battery status widget has three different styles. So, choose your preferred style and tap Add Widget. Long-press the widget, drag it to your desired location on the Today View page, and tap on Done to save your changes.
To add the battery widget to your Home Screen, long-press on any app and select Edit Home Screen. Then, tap the plus (+) icon on the top left and follow the same steps we used to add a widget to Today View, except that you place the Batteries widget on your Home Screen.
3. Ask Siri for Your Battery Percentage
Instead of checking it yourself, you can let your iPhone 13 tell you the battery percentage using Siri. Assuming you’ve already set up Siri on your iPhone like almost everyone, you can go ahead and say “Hey Siri” followed by a question like “What is the battery percentage?”. Siri will then respond with the current battery level of your iPhone 13.
4. Charge Your iPhone
If your charger is nearby, simply charge your iPhone 13 to show the battery percentage. The battery level will be shown on the Lock Screen, displaying X% Charged.
Even if you couldn’t see the exact battery percentage on your iPhone 13 earlier, it’s best not to wait until the battery is almost dead before charging your device. This is one of the many ways to maintain your iPhone’s battery health.
5. Update to iOS 16
The trouble in showing the battery percentage on the iPhone 13 (and other iPhones with a notch) has not gone unnoticed by Apple. If you haven’t been keeping up with the news, Apple has brought back the battery percentage with the iOS 16 software update.
Assuming you’ve already updated your device to iOS 16, all you need to do is go to Settings > Battery and toggle on Battery Percentage. You’ll immediately notice the battery percentage inside the battery icon.
Display Battery Percentage on the iPhone 13
Although the battery icon can provide a rough estimation of how much power is left on your iPhone 13, nothing beats the accuracy of the exact battery percentage. It’s handy when you’re at a place where you cannot charge your device right away.
By carefully monitoring how fast the battery percentage on your iPhone 13 depletes, you can reserve the remaining power for essential features until you can charge your device.
